Part-time East London Rape Crisis Coordinator ? nia project ~ 10th September 2012

nia is a London based organisation providing cutting edge services to end violence against women and children.

East London Rape Crisis Service provides free, confidential specialist help for women and girls who have been raped or experienced any other form of sexual violence. The service is for women of all ages and girls over 14, whatever the assault and whenever it occurred.

The women who work and volunteer at ELRC offer confidential and independent support. Services include emotional and practical support, one-to-one counselling, group support and advocacy.

nia is affiliated to Rape Crisis (England and Wales), an umbrella organisation supporting Rape Crisis Centres across the country. Rape Crisis is completely independent of the government and the criminal justice system.

The service is currently funded until 31st March 2013 with a possibility of further funding.

We are seeking to recruit to the following post:

    Part-time East London Rape Crisis Coordinator (21 hours per week)
    Salary: ?17,099 ? ?18, 463 (?28,499 ? ?30,773 pro rata)

The Coordinator plays a key role in developing and maintaining the ELRC service, supporting the Head of Operations to manage the staff, offices and projects the service provides in order to provide high quality, supportive and culturally appropriate service to survivors of sexual violence

We?re looking for a highly organised and self motivated woman who is passionate about ending gender-based violence. You?ll have a ?can-do? approach and demonstrable commitment to nia?s feminist approach to supporting women and their children to be safer.
